Asian palm civet is a modest mottled faded and dark viverrid weighing 2 to 5 kg (4.4 to 11 lb). It has a figure length of around 53 cm (21 in) with a 48 cm (19 in) long tail. Its long stocky form is secured with coarse shaggy hair that is for the most part greyish in color. There is a white veil opposite the temple a modest white fix under every eye a white spot on every side of the nostrils and a restricted gloom line between the eyes. The gag ears easier legs and distal a large part of the tail are dark with several lines of dark markings on the form. The tail is without rings, unlike in comparable civet species. Butt-centric aroma organs discharge a sickening emission as a concoction barrier when spooked or upset. Despite its species name hermaphroditus the civets (such as all different warm blooded creatures) have two unique genders and are not bisexuals.
